Josh Sideris explains common mistakes and pitfalls when designing and building H-bridge motor controllers.

The internet is full of schematics. But be careful what you search for. Always double-check to make sure any given schematic matches your individual requirements or you might be in for a surprise.

…hing sensitive in that small instant. So you typically need dedicated circuits to be a bridge between any inductive load and a microcontroller. A H bridge, with resilient MOSFETs, snubber networks to damp the inductive spikes, and proper driver circuitry to ensure clean turn on and off signalling are the most common thing.
