A short tour of the Megaprocessor, a giant microprocessor built entirely from tens of thousands of discrete transistors.

I've finished building and testing the Megaprocessor. Here is a short tour showing what it's made of. (There was an error in the audio settings for the first version of this video which is fixed for this.) Update Winter 2016: If you want to see the machine in the flesh its now at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge, computinghistory.org.uk/ . You can try your hand at Tetris and (once we've sorted things out) bring your own programs to run on it.

Why it's here

What people say. Recommended as an amazing demonstration of a CPU built at a scale where you can see every transistor working.

On “Huge home-built computer used for Tetris”

A video tour is available on youtube, so we don't crush his website: link to this video Spoiler alert: his Tetris skills are inversely proportional to his computer building skills.

The amazing thing about this is that you can't critique. I mean, you can say anything you want, but you can't stop it or change this guy's mind. :) It's pretty neat seeing him change the clock speed: link to this video

On “Show HN: I made a programmable computer from NAND gates”

There's this one that goes one step beyond that, it's built out of 40,000 discrete transistors: link to this video EDIT: there's more information here: link
