Cloud and DevOpsKubernetesObservability and monitoring

Jeff Geerling demonstrates how to set up cluster monitoring and visibility using Lens, Prometheus, and Grafana.

In this episode, we’ll talk about different ways of monitoring Kubernetes, including Lens for better cluster visibility, or tools for metrics, like Prometheus and Grafana. On “Use kubernetes ingress for sites outside your kubernetes cluster”

The ingress-nginx controller setup is (as far as I understand) High Available out-of-box. It will create an ingress pod on every node, and will handle the load balancing between these pods automatically within the cluster. For monitoring you can use grafana/prometheus. I have setup this setup in my cluster, but haven't wrote a blog about it yes. Jeff Geerling has a good video on how-to set this up [video and link to this video

On “Light weight monitoring solution for K3s and containers monitoring”

…you could get any lighter than that. Plus, Prometheus plays well with Alertmanager and Grafana. (There are other TSDB’s that play well with Grafana, some of which were mentioned by others.). You might watch Jeff Geerling’s video, posted today. He is on here and a frequent contributor, has some excellent books and series of videos on YouTube. link to this video…
