A demonstration of deploying convolutional neural networks on Xilinx Zynq FPGAs using the Python-based PYNQ framework.

Xilinx Open Hardware 2017 competition entry "PYNQ Classification - Python on Zynq FPGA for Convolutional Neural Networks" (Xilinx XOHW17 XIL-11000) This is a tutorial video introducing how to use PYNQ to implement CNN, introducing a new framework for designing and deploying CNN on PYNQ. For details on the project, please see the github repo at github.com/awai54st/PYNQ-Classification.git BGM Copyright: Fig Leaf Rag by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100… Artist: incompetech.com/

What people say. Recommended as a helpful resource for learning how to integrate Python and FPGAs for machine learning projects.

On “ML/AI projects on FPGA suggestions?”

There are a number of papars, example code, and tutorials for doing this with Zynq boards. The Pynq boards seem ideal for this. I just picked uip a Pynq-Z2 based on an earlier discussion on this sub and expect to start playing around with exactly this. Since so much of the ML world is centered around Python and the Pynq boards are designed to integrate Python and FPGA, Pynq seems like an incredible tool for learning this stuff. https://github.com/Xilinx/LSTM-PYNQ [video https://arxiv.org/pdf/1809.04570

On “Which to buy”

The complexity of the FPGAs can be overwhelming and the apparent lack of resources can, comprehensibly, lead to frustration. Hopefully after reading this post you will change your mind about the PYNQ board. The interpreter you mentioned is a Jupyter notebook, similar to the one used on Google Colab. In the notebook you can run python code and add notes using markdown. It makes documenting and sharing the project simpler. One of the PYNQ goals is to make the communication between the FPGA with the ARM core simpler. The many PS/PL interfaces can be overwhelming for a new user. And most of the resource are focused on that. I strongly recommend watching some tutorials on YouTube, reading Adam…
