javidx9 explains how to implement cameras, derive look-at matrices, and perform triangle clipping in a custom 3D engine.

Phew, it's a long one but I feel necessary to get this series moving. This video describes how to implement cameras and clipping planes in a 3D engine. In addition, I derive the look at and point at matrices, typically used in cameras, and talk about how to clip triangles against planes in world space, views space and screen space Source: github.com/OneLoneCoder/Javidx9/tree/master/ConsoleGameEngin… discord.gg/WhwHUMV Blog: onelonecoder.com Twitter: @javidx9 Twitch: javidx9

What people say. Highly recommended for learning how to implement 3D camera matrices and triangle clipping from scratch.

On “I made a triangle rasteriser on an FPGA”

Are you culling triangles behind the camera? Also, frustum clipping of the triangles? Here's a guy who made a 3d engine from scratch using the command prompt as the rasterizer. In this video he goes over the triangle clipping and splitting [video

On “I can't find how to better implement model transformations in the game engine.”

frustrum and viewing plane culling can be very cpu intensive when rendering things up close that clip the scene. i think the shaders are doing all of this on the gpu side. for example, i typically pass my viewing transform to the shader every frame and then the gpu has processed the rest. if you are doing this by hand it would be pretty easy to do with opencl. here is a link javidx9 to a video series that covers the issues of doing this in software, maybe that will help you with troubleshooting later.
