A 64-kilobyte executable generates a 4.5-minute real-time 3D animation and soundtrack.

Video recording of "Clean Slate", a 64 KByte realtime short film by Conspiracy. First presented at the Revision 2021 demoparty. Now available as open-source! github.com/ConspiracyHu/apEx-public/ Download the realtime version at conspiracy.hu/get/67/cns!cns.zip Comment on Pouët at pouet.net/prod.php?which=88524 Get the soundtrack at soundcloud.com/gargaj/three-steps-back Engine code and additional graphics by BOYC Visuals and direction by ZOOM Synth, music, graphics and editing by GARGAJ A crisis is a terrible thing to waste. Truth be told, we've already started on this intro last year, pre-pandemic, and it's not like we didn't make any progress on it, just... something wasn't clicking yet. The idea kept sitting at the back of our heads, gnawing away, and perhaps deep down we hoped we'd sit out a year and get the chance to show it at a "real" party, but it eventually became apparent that was not to be. So we did it anyway. From the very beginning we knew what we wanted after doing slow dramatic quasi-short-films about the world ending, what can we do that's the exact opposite? So we ended up going back to our roots. In many ways, making this intro brought back a lot of memories from the PG days, the collaboration, the squeezing of single bytes, the amount of content... And then took all of that, and cranked all of those things to proportions that were unprecedented for us until now, which is a fitting denouement to this generation of our 64k tech. The only thing missing will be the catharsis in the hall. But we'll get there soon. Take care of each other. Miss you all. Hope to see you soon. conspiracy.hu twitter.com/conspiracyhu facebook.com/conspiracy.hu #conspiracy #demoscene #64k #intro #realtime #hungary

What people say. Engineers highlighted this as an impressive example of demoscene programming and extreme size optimization.

Extreme example of programming prowess in 65536 bytes - A single standalone 64 kbyte executable generates this 4.5 minute animation in real-time. (New release from the currently ongoing Revision demoparty)
