Dave Plummer explains the history of Space Cadet Pinball and why it was ultimately removed from 64-bit Windows.

Pinball in Windows 11? Find out from Dave Plummer, the "fun uncle" who brought pinball to the masses by programming the game port for Windows XP, discusses some of the history pinbll and test drives it on Windows 11 to see if it still works! The actual Microsoft programmer explains why Pinball did not ship on 64-bit, dispelling the various conspiracy videos currently floating around. The following website has a VERY complete list of cheat codes and debug codes that were left in. Most of these should still work, though I can't vouch for all of them! ign.com/wikis/pc-cheats/Space_Cadet_Pinball_Cheats Here's a link to a site that hosts the pinball file. I have no affiliation with the site and can't speak to the safety of the binary, as it was never signed by Microsoft. Works in a VM though! techspot.com/downloads/5697-microsoft-pinball-for-windows.ht…

On “Why Space Cadet pinball was removed”

Dave's Garage already covered this over a week ago - link to this video He worked at Microsoft and said it was mainly due to the move to 64-bit, where the original game was doing 32-bit voodoo that wouldn't work by simply changing all pointers to 64-bit.
