ThinMatrix demonstrates how to set up a basic display window using Java, LWJGL, and OpenGL.

LWJGL 2 tutorial series on how to create a 3D Java game with OpenGL! Tutorial about setting up the project: youtu.be/Jdkq-aSFEA0 Full code: github.com/TheThinMatrix/OpenGL-Tutorial-1 Common Problems: -In case you had annotations off, you need to do the ContextAttribs stuff all in one line like this: ContextAttribs attribs = new ContextAttribs(3, 2).withForwardCompatible(true).withProfileCore(true); -If you get the following error: org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Could not create context (WGL_ARB_create_context) then your computer may not support the version of OpenGL that we're trying to use (version 3.2). Try removing the parameters from the Display.create() method and try again. - Make sure you didn't miss the "!" in the "(!Display.isCloseRequested())" part. What people say. Engineers recommend this classic tutorial series as a starting point for learning OpenGL and building a game engine from scratch in Java.

On “A Challange to any game engine developer”

>Go make ur ön engine and how exactly you are making your "own game engine" by telling others to make it ? There is no prestige here, just tell him you dont want to make it and move on. You want tutorials? start from ThinMatrix then go for learn opengl. Game engine development will make you fall in love with mathematics. You will see equations bleed to real life. Only if you are willing to learn. Other wise dont force yourself. Life is too short just to be triggered by some jackass and do his bidding. Being easily triggered by someone is sign of weakness. If you like his advise take it. Learn. Other wise forget it and move on kid.

On “How I created a Minecraft in 5 days.”

Please state somewhere that you've followed the ThinMatrix tutorial (or derivatives of it): [video As because the "I created" statement and the fact that you all type it in over 3 hours without even running the code makes it seem like you came up with this all by yourself while being 12 years old. It's okay to create something based on a tutorial, but seeing all the comments on youtube, and the r/java post of this makes me think that a lot of people believed that you made this **all** by yourself. Which would be quite impressive and you get your compliments for that. However, it is not the case, and I feel like I'm being misleaded or borderline lied to. So as per your youtube descript…

On “What is a good resource to learn more about graphic programming”

**What kind of graphics do you want to learn?** I would start by understanding the graphics processing pipeline (how a GPU work inside). From there you should try to learn one of the easiest graphics APIs such as OpenGL or DX11, why? These APIs follow the usual graphics pipeline, with less abstractions and are mature enough to have decent documentation and online tutorials unlike Vulkan or Metal. There are plenty of OpenGL courses on youtube, my recommendations: * Intro to Modern OpenGL by TheBennyBox * Modern OpenGL by u/TheCherno (He is now uploading a Game Engine Development series) * Modern OpenGL 3.0+ by Sonar Systems * OpenGL 3D Game Tutorial by ThinMatrix (This is the only o…

On “how working game engines?”

>the engines that are now do not suit me That's an *excellent* reason to build the game you have in mind without bothering to first build an engine, or to build an engine *specifically* for a certain game. If you have such specific needs that a major game engine can't handle it, odds are any general-purpose engine you build won't be good enough either - certain optimizations make it impossible for an engine to do other things, and I can guarantee you won't be able to make a better general-purpose engine than already exists on the market without at least a decade of really intense study. >Don't like the rendering that games use The modern look and feel of games are largely using a renderin…
