Brendan Galea introduces a tutorial series on building a 3D game engine from scratch using C++ and the Vulkan graphics API.

This is an introduction to a tutorial series covering the Vulkan computer graphics API. It is targeted at programmers with some c++ experience, who are interested in learning how modern graphics APIs work. Throughout this series we will build a game engine from scratch. This series is designed to be of the beginner to intermediate level when it comes to working with computer graphics and graphics APIs. ** Set up your development environment for windows, linux and mac ** vulkan-tutorial.com/Development_environment ** Timecodes ** - Intro - What is Vulkan? - Vulkan vs. OpenGL - Is vulkan difficult? - Is this series for you? - Project setup ** Some other resources ** My github for this series - github.com/blurrypiano/littleVulkanEngine Official vulkan samples - github.com/KhronosGroup/Vulkan-Samples Vulkan tutorial website - vulkan-tutorial.com/Introduction ** Attributions ** viking room model was made by nigelgoh (CC BY 4.0). model link: sketchfab.com/3d-models/viking-room-a49f1b8e4f5c4ecf9e1fe7d8… “Vulkan and the Vulkan logo are registered trademarks of the Khronos Group Inc.”

…ill isn't as bad as the community makes it out to be), but after that the process is far more intuitive. If you think you're ready to just jump in, Brendan Galea has a wonderful youtube series dedicated to creating a 3D game engine with Vulkan and C++, which he has targeted towards people who want to learn graphics programming *with* Vulkan. On “My teacher told that I was crazy to do a rendering project with Vulkan.”

I start to learn Vulkan (and graphic programming) with Brendan Galea tutorial. He teaches a lot of basics stuffs of 3D rendering, and he gives some basic code for the most complex part (specially device creation).

Hey! I’d recommend starting with OpenGL since there are a lot more tutorials available, and it's easier to get started and quicker to get some things on screen as a beginner. I found LearnOpenGL and OGLdev’s OpenGL tutorial really helpful when I was learning. Once I had some basic experience with OpenGL, I tried building a renderer by integrating everything I learned or wanted to learn.. After that, I decided to give Vulkan a shot because I kept hearing that it’s a modern API that’s lots of different from OpenGL. For Vulkan, I used the Vulkan Docs and followed the Vulkan Game Engine Tutorialto get something basic on the screen. My experience with Vulkan is still pretty basic though, sin…
