A demonstration of the OpenMV Pure Thermal board driving 1080p video at 30Hz using an STM32H7 microcontroller.

The new OpenMV Pure Thermal is capable of driving 720p at 60hz and 1080p at 30hz - all powered by the STM32H7. Uses 32-bit SDRAM @ 100 MHz, the LTDC controller peripheral, and the TFP410PAP.

Why it's here

What people say. Shared as a proof of concept showing that driving high-resolution HDMI displays is possible with an STM32H7.

On “How to run an HDMI screen with STM32?”

…de. It's probably not a very easy thing to do: if we use a modest resolution of 800x640x60Hz x 24-bit, that's a pixel clock of 30.72MHz and a datarate of 88MB/s. The framebuffer is 1.5MB so won't fit internal. You need quite some decent (S)DRAM to support that.. :) That being said, I've seen OpenMV present this 1080p demo running of a STM32H7: link to this video It's on the OpenMV thermal board, not very cheap.. but possible: https://openmv.io/collections/cams/products/openmv-pure-thermal…
