CodeParade demonstrates a custom rendering engine written in C++ and OpenGL that allows for non-Euclidean geometry using portals.

Here's a demo of a rendering engine I've been working on that allows for Non-Euclidean worlds. What people say. Recommended as a great demonstration and explanation of non-Euclidean rendering techniques using portals.

On “This guy made a video game out of his game engine that can render infinitely detailed fractals”

This is the video the guy made, near the end he explains it as well. Everything you see (geometry wise), is just regular geometry. Using portals you create the illusion of it. For example, the short hallway that is longer when you walk trough it. The short hallway you see from the hallway is actually that short. At both entrances, a portal is placed to another place of the map that contains the "inside" of the tunnel (the long part). So the inside of the tunnel is basically on another part of the map, but due to the portals (and the player being moved somewhere else), it looks like the geometry is impossible. Same goes with buildings where the inside is larger then the outside. The inter…
