Graphics and audioComputer scienceRenderingAlgorithms

An animated explanation of the triangle rasterization algorithm used in computer graphics rendering.

Our apprentice Cédric Girardin made a great video about the rasterizing algorithm with the MANIM animation library. What people say. Recommended as a clear visual explanation of how triangle rasterization works.

Do any AA techniques just apply to polygon edges? Okay so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but I have been interested in learning about computer graphics and after watching a video about rasterizing triangles I was thinking why aren’t the edges drawn with transparency based on how much the tri is contained in the pixel. Of course this would cause performance overhead but it seems like it would work better than what I understood researching MSAA and such. Also I understand that having the alpha for every pixel would take much more memory so each tru could be overlayed with transparency onto a final image. Again I did my best to research on my own but I’m struggling a little bit so I wo…

On “I made a 3D object viewer with no libraries”

I had the idea wondering if it was possible to write pixels on the screen after hearing that embedded programming is just writing data on special addresses. I found this page covering the basics: https://linuxvox.com/blog/linux-framebuffer/ then i saw this video on Youtube [video the rest was just building the structure. The logic part was like "trying to translate how I'd do it in a way I can program it" I had about 3 ideas of how to fill in a triangle until i decided what was best. I also had the goal to make the code that'll be used(when configuring) simple as possible.
