What people say. Recommended as an interesting example of how to render and interact with four-dimensional geometry on a 2D screen.

On “How would a renderer be different if you wanted to render a 4D object?”

Not sure exactly what you're hoping for. Most visualizations of 4D I've seen have been done through rending 3D slices of a 4D world like \CodeParade's 4D golf\([video or \MashPoe's 4D miner\([video 4D golf cleverly shows some semi-transparent hinting of what lies further along the 4th dimension. Unfortunately as far as I understand, since our eyes are 2D and "flat" things in 4D are 3D there's really no way for us to "see" 4D the way a 4D creature would. It's just a limit to human perception. The best we can do is find better and better ways of conceptualize and visualizing 4D space in 3D rendered to 2D. Maybe someone better at geometry could tell you something else, but I went on…

You could probably extend all vectors and matrices with one more element and have the equations still work, but I feel like that doesn't necessarily make practical sense. I would first take a couple steps back and try to understand what it even means to render a 4D object on a 2D canvas. What would a 4D object look like? Maybe like a 3D object that morphs and passes through space peculiarly. Anyway, I think that you would need two 'renders' so to say, one from 4D to 3D, and another one from 3D to 2D. The former is quite problematic, as I don't think there is an absolute solution for it. From what I could gather, people usually treat the fourth dimension as a variable that can represent 'ti…
