…ming and math \-networking seems fun, but I don't think I like the sysadmin stuff \-balancing passion / job security \-really leaning towards becoming a graphics programmer, what upper division classes in my flexible CS degree should I take? \-advice from current graphics programmers? maybe UCI alum for my classes? \-THANK YOU **CONTEXT:** [video Hello everyone! I literally was inspired to become a graphics programmer after learning about it from this video by Acerola. I love how he is like an artist and he works with math and programming in his career, which I don't mind. My main dilemmas are how **what classes should I take to become a Graphics Programmer and if I even should be…

…on becoming a graphics programmer. My aim is to master advanced graphics techniques for creating stunning visuals. While I've dabbled in graphics programming—created a raytracer, raymarching projects, and using OpenGL for game-like projects previously—I feel a bit stuck. I want to push beyond and explore more complex stuff. Recently, I watched a link to this video by Acerola where he suggested implementing advanced shaders like an ocean or grass shader aiming high performance. He also advised diving into research papers for ideas, but I'm having trouble finding those. Any tips on finding these papers or other advice to help me on this learning journey? EDIT: I want to share resources I found so tha…

I want a huge list of every specialization that I can pursue as a Comp aci graduate I'm trying to figure out what to specialize in and am feeling a bit lost. Is there some kind of list that explains in detail all the specializations I can work towards? Forget basic shit like ai and web dev. A million videos mention those, I want to discover new specializations I never heard of or at least didn't know anything about. Shoutout to acerola and his video explaining graphics programmer which peaked my curiosity on the matter. I clearly don't know everything and the best way to learn is to ask. link to this video Thank you

But what about custom graphic engine? what is the reason to build a custom graphic engine and what industry need from graphic programmer. Thanks! I watch this video from acerola but I still want to know more in depth. link to this video…

…and I want to get into graphics programming. I took Computer Graphics course at university and learned the basics of rendering with WebGL and I know C++ at an intermediate level. I came across a channel on youtube called "Acelora" and in one of his videos, he recommended Catlike Coding's Unity tutorials and Rastertek DirectX11 tutorials. (Link: [video My question is: Do I really need to go through the Unity shader tutorials first? I would like to use C++ to learn graphics and follow an interactive learning path by doing projects. I also wonder if it is possible to switch to graphics programming while working full-time as a C++ software engineer. Any kind of advice or resource recommenda…
