An introduction to GPU computing and writing compute kernel functions using Apple's Metal Shading Language.

In this tutorial I will go over the following: When to use the GPU for calculations over the CPU How to write Metal Compute Kernel Functions How multithreading with the GPU works How Threadgroups work The difference in time taken for the GPU vs the CPU Why the GPU shouldn't be called the GPU. Excellent introductory tutorial to GPU Programming and the Metal Shading Language A few months ago I was asking in this sub about introductory tutorials to Metal (so I can start getting my head around it in the most basic way). I didn't find any tutorials that were very basic that would help me understand how Metal works at its core. All suggestions and other tutorials I found online were over my head. Well, I just found this tutorial and I wanted to share it with the community for anyone wanting to get a basic understanding of Metal. [video Enjoy. :)
