On “How can I build my own 3D engine and fully understand every part of it?”

This guy has a great Vulkan engine/renderer series - just swap in SDL for GLFW. I also wouldnt worry about using Conan for dep management like he suggests, Ive found it to be a bit of a pain when Ive used it so I’d recommend just sticking with plain old CMake/Premake/whatever build system you want: link to this video Also stumbled across this great lecture series a while ago on Vulkan that I found very helpful: link to this video Best of luck!
